Why do people keep saying this? In the last 5 years we’ve averaged 26th in recruiting which is around the same or better than teams like Mississippi State, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, Vandy and Ole Miss. Certainly better than teams like Kansas State or Minnesota who are having great years. It’s a tough division but we can compete with anyone as far as money, facilities and passionate fanbases.

Morris wasn’t fired because he couldn’t beat Alabama or LSU, which for some reason is the rationale that people give for a coach not wanting to be here. He was fired for not beating Colorado State, San Jose State and getting blown out by WKU and North Texas. I guess people forget Nutt winning the SEC West twice or Petrino going 21-5 in two years and finishing #5 in the country.

Well, you didn’t have to go and prove my point in the first response. Arkansas is hopefully nearing the end of the worst decade or two in program history, and we are still a top 25 program. A good coach or two makes all the difference in the world. Arrogant redneck retardation is what prevents you from remembering what LSU was before Saban came along.

We also have a lot of money people who think they know something about today’s college game, which generally makes an abortion of coaching hires. Hopefully our new AD will save us.

I hear you. Historically, too many cooks in the kitchen has been an issue here too.

I’ve always viewed Arkansas as a good program and a place where the right coach could do great.

If the basketball hire your AD made is any indication, you guys should feel very optimistic

Agreed. Hes from tulsa which is a recruiting bed for us and built memphis into an AAC power. He has deep ties to our region and can coach his arse off. Id take Lane too, but it feels awkward even though he technically is an arkansan

having jerry jones as a booster is a blessing and curse. best case scenario he sends garret down to college to coach us while removing Lincoln Reilly from OU and upsetting the order of things in the area.
