It was a nice run while it lasted Vandy.

It was just a matter of time before someone plucked him away from Vandy

I'm still not totally convinced.
He is well-paid at Vanderbilt; very well-paid. PSU is still facing all these sanctions and Vanderbilt is doing facilities upgrades and about to start raking in more cash with the ESPN deal. Would it really be THAT much of an upgrade at this point in time?

A source...haha. The media is out of control. They are literally just making stuff up on every coaching search.

The NCAA may back off the sanctions even more than they already have. Even if they don't, the sanctions won't last forever. Franklin would be given a free pass for at least the first 3 years, assuming the NCAA doesn't give back any shollies. After that, his ceiling in Happy Valley would be infinitely higher than it will ever be in Nashville.

I think Franklin stays at Vandy. Well lemme rephrase he doesn't go to PSU from Vandy. He's got it good where he is and he knows it.

Why not hold out for a better program and not have to deal with the crazy Paterno fanbase and sanctions?

He's making himself look attractive for the Texas job.

Penn State loves them some coaches that overlook sexual assaults.
