That's like paying top dollar for John Chavis RIGHT now, instead of paying competitive salary for Aranda. Think closely about that.

How is this even a comparison? Chiefs great - but Aranda? Genius.

You should be rolling out the red carpet with Herman in my opinion, throw the bank at him!!! Imo Jimbo is using is as leverage after losing his DC.

On a side note I'll take either one of them

Prefer Jimbo, but I'm good with either. Kevin Sumlin was the equivalent of Herman a couple of years ago. Not saying Herman won't win at LSU, but to argue that he is head and shoulders better than a coach with 4 ACC titles and NC is ridiculous.

Chavis is a well known commodity that has been the best before, and he has quite the price tag on his head.

Aranda is the best NOW and hadn't even renegotiated up his salary.

Herman starting off close to 2 mil les than jimbo - herman is the best NOW.

I.e. why pay more cash for security then less cash for what appears or could be best hire of all time? Jimbo isn't far from has-been status.

Please never compare Jimbo to JC. It's just not very tactful

Isn't Aranda the highest paid DC already?

I get the analogy but the execution was horrible.

If Herman is as good as we think he is then he'll be on Jimbo's salary level in no more than 2 years.

Okay I give up I suck at analogies which is kind of crazy because my degree is in communication but whatever. The point is I think a young potential superstar is what LSU needs, not a known commodity.

Aranda is a much more proven DC than Herman is HC.
