Shannon was hired to clean the program up,pure and simple. They were on probation and still had a culture of cheating when he was hired. He was also a very hot candidate at that time because of his stint as a DC.The president at Miami,Donna Shalala,is the reason the Miami job is not a good one to get.She will not allow the things needed done to get done. Also a problem with Miami when comparing to LSU is the academic standard.Miami isn't Notre Dame hard but does have a higher standard of academics than most major football schools.Shalala made sure that the academic point was made when the Shannon firing was announced.A good coach doesn't want a job with a meddling president involved.

Are you kidding with the easier win and live in Miami? I'm not saying that B.R. Isn't a shite hole and crime is a much larger problem as of late, but Miami is straight ghetto. Just because the beaches are nice doesn't mean that's how life is down there. Everybody knows that the people with money have seculded areas making them protected, average Joe down there playing football trying to be a star lives in the hood. Ask D.Byrd how it goe down out there.

So Gruden wont be coaching anywhere! Got it?

Or he just didn't like the "parameters" of the offer.

No he's just waiting for Miles to be gone. He really wants to be at LSU. Book it!

He didn't want to coach at MIAMI. He would come to LSU though.

He is a competitor with a huge ego and doesn't care for the coaching challenges the NFL offers.

"The only coaching job I would want would be at a top tier college program." This was once said during a round of golf while in the state of Florida..

If Les leaves, he would be interested.

Money will not be an issue. He already has more than he will ever need. If Les leaves, it will happen!

LSU is a much, MUCH better job than miami right now

I undertsand as far as talent but everything else Miami is better. The ACC is weak and easy to win. Its not in trashy Baton Rouge and is in beautiful Miami! You dont have to play Saban every year.

Your criteria including livability is retarded. If that played ANY role, San Diego State would dominate everyone. The SEC would be about as feared as the Sunbelt Conference. And "as far as talent"... Miami has a talent pool as strong as anybody... your whole argument is arse backwards. What an idiot.
