Sorry but facts are facts and unless you have just always lived in La. and your family is all in La. Why would you ever want to live anywhere in La. over anywhere in Florida?

If my goal is to get the best college football opportunity available, I go Baton Rouge. If it is to retire, play golf and pick up Cuban chicks, I go to Miami...

Last time I checked, Miami is not a great place to live, not is it safe.
Sure they have beaches and restaurants/bars and pro sports..
But married people with kids don't get into all that night life stuff..
Miami is not a great college gig...
They don't even have their own football stadium.
prospects are everywhere yes, but horrible place to play a college football game IMHO...doesn't even feel like a college atmosphere.
The U is not what it seems if you are thinking of it back in the glory days
LSU job is way way better... You watch and see who they land..it probably won't be a 5 star coach like they hope

do you really think coaches base their decisions on what the area is like? how much free time would gruden spend hanging out in miami or br for that matter if he was the coach? little to none, he would be busy working. also if a guy like gruden were to come back to coaching, it wouldnt be for the money. it would be for the competitive nature of the profession and the want to be the best.

It may be better in some ways but at least Miami has a QB and its not like they cant get talent. Florida is loaded and with the right coach would explode like the Jimmy Johnson era Canes.
The quality of life for my wife and kids in Miami would far outweigh any slight improvement LSU has over Miami.
Miami is MUCH better than Baton Rouge! LSU isnt even the best gig in the SEC much less the country. With the right coach, the U will be The U again.

the "u" will NEVER be the same as it was during its hayday. the college football world has moved on and the lack of facilities and other limitations at the "u" are all too glaring. lets see what kind of b rate coach yall get this time around.

Did ANYONE think Shannon was a good hire? Of course not. They hired a "token" black coach so they could move on in 3 yrs. Done.
Was LSU anything other than a year in/year out middle of the pack SEC team with horrible facilities until Saban came along? No.
With the right coach, Miami will be the "U" once again.

Shannon was hired to clean the program up,pure and simple.They were on probation and still had a culture of cheating when he was hired.He was also a very hot candidate at that time because of his stint as a DC.The president at Miami,Donna Shalala,is the reason the Miami job is not a good one to get.She will not allow the things needed done to get done.Also a problem with Miami when comparing to LSU is the academic standard.Miami isn't Notre Dame hard but does have a higher standard of academics than most major football schools.Shalala made sure that the academic point was made when the Shannon firing was announced.A good coach doesn't want a job with a meddling president involved.

I'd like to coach where there was more than 10,000 people attending a game.
I enjoyed the OB and all that allure they had at one point as much as anyone, but they look sad playing in Dolphin stadium now.
