who would can you go out and replace him with. someone please give me a name of someone that you KNOW would do better than him. there are two stipulations.
1)they have to be attainable and very good shot that we could get them to come here i.e. guys like saban don't count (i think he would be hard to pull back from 'bama)
2) they have to be a proven head coach at the college level so jack del rio and those types dont count. you have to be able to say from day one that they you know they will do great things.
For the record I am on the fence about miles but i just dont know who LSU could get that you KNOW could do a better job. i like guys like will muschamp a lot but it is uncertain how he will do as a head coach. LSU is not a program that gets coordinators at this point. They get proven head coaches with track records. With that in mind only a couple of coaches come to mind that fit the above criteria: gary patterson TCU, brian kelly CINCY, and MAYBE butch davis UNC (don't know if he would leave but i think he would).
Anyone have anybody else?

There are about 20 LSU fans who seriously want to get rid of Miles. And they all post on Tigerdroppings.com. This place has turned into the fever swamp.

Impossible. Very rarely do you ever KNOW whether another coach will be a very good hire and get you the 11 win regular season that so many of our fans are currently craving.
Coaching resumes are one of the hardest things to analyze given all the variables. Conference strength, assistants, recruiting availability, facilities, etc. It goes on and on.
Very few believe we should fire Miles. And I truly feel sorry for that crowd that do. Alot are basically hoping he's taken off our hands so we could be in the position to shop for whoever we want. To me, that's a real big risk. We know we can expect at least 10 wins a regular season with Miles. Why that's not good enough for so many people is mind boggling.

thats my exact point. who can you go out and get? you could get another saban or you could end up with a curyly hallman.

if Miles wins say, 10 games this year and we fire him - what coach in his right mind would EVER want to come here?
11-2
11-2
12-2
8-5
10-3
I'd love someone to post a link of coaches who have a combined record of 52-14 over the last 5 years. My bet is that there are less than 7 of them.

We had 7 last year, including a miracle over Troy.
At least 10?

Arkansas had a miracle win against us, Bama caught alot of breaks (4 I believe) That works both ways.
And yes, at least 10.

2-2, the same record Bob Stoops has against Miles.

How many of those do you suppose stepped into the program a year removed from a national championship?

Wow, one bad season determines everything? I guess we can't say Saban will get at least 10 cuz of 2007. Meyer either cuz of 2007, too. Bob Stoops can get at least 10 right? Nope, look at this year. Pete Carrol has won how many Rose Bowls? Who cares, his team isn't very good this year. Is this really your mindset?
I will be shocked if Miles wins 8 or fewer games in the regular season while at LSU ever again.

Shula won 10 games a year removed from getting fired.

You're assuming 2 wins.

I could name a lot that went 8-5 or better last season.

Houston Nutt >>> Bob Stoops according to you?

No, you said 10+ every season. Which isn't the case at all because we only won 7 last season.
