If the lousy choice is Fisher/Pelini, all day long Fisher....

Fisher's contract now runs through the 2015 season. He will be paid $2.75 million annually in base salary, a significant increase from the $1.8 million he earned as base salary in 2010
We can top that with 3.5m IMO

obviously. Just hope that he gets Jeff Fisher to run his defense.

So would I. No question

Jimbo hunts off Angola road on a high fence reserve. He still comes back now and then

Jimbo would be a homerun hire. He is young, runs a pro style offense, recruits lights out, coaches love working for him, and players love playing for him. Sign me up, i'll take him!!

Pelini would not even get a sniff...The LSU board of directors think highly of Chavis (I have several confirmed sources of this) and if Pelini was hired, he would bring his brother in as DC and would want to push Chavis out.....

I don't listen to anyone under 30 on this board because they are all morons. But does anyone over 30 actually think Gruden would come to LSU? And if so why? What does he know about recruiting? What's stopping him from taking the next NFL job soon after? Ita stupid to even think about.
I'd take Pelini over Jimbo for the simple fact that defense wins games and if he gets a solid OC with total control of the offense, he has a better chance here than Jimbo. I didn't like Jimbos offense to begin with but to me it's harder to find a DC than a OC in the SEC.

Jimbo, ironically now that he has a season under his belt, is suddenly the guy we all want.LSU should've never let him go.

I hope you are right. I think highly of Chavis as well, especially as a LBer coach, and I like the defensive staff as a whole. Pelini and his staff would obviously supplant them. We need a successful offensive coach who will bring in his staff with the knowledge that Wilson must stay as Rb coach.

the only asst. coach that I can foresee LSU requiring retention is Moffitt.

Chaz - good point on Gruden. Gruden just is NOT a college coach.
Defense is an LSU tradition too.
