Time to bring him back

We need to quit living in the past. Hopefully the new coach will clean house, bring in all new people and give LSU a fresh start. Hiring people who used to be at LSU or keeping people on who are currently there is how you get the "that's not how we've always done it" attitude and you end up with what you've always had.

Very well said.

Especially ones from the O coaching tree... FW broke in to the college scene via O at Ole Miss

Better at what? Promising recruits an NFL career if they'll come give LSU 2.5 seasons and then sit out with an injury until the draft?

Frank wilson is actually a good running backs coach and recruiter.
Same with corey raymond and cornerbacks.
You can't tell the new coach to keep anyone beyond raymond.

New coach not immediately hiring Corey Raymond would be the first nail in his coffin. And alot of you are showing how dumb you are right now.
He created dbu and has be a top recruiter nationwide for nearly 2 decades. On top of that, as recruiting coordinator, he has every Louisiana high school head on friendly terms with LSU (see jabar juluke, O, and new Orleans coaches debacle circa 2017)
Coordinators? Sure. S&C? Yes. But everybody? No. Stability and some familiarity can't be understated

I love Raymond man but Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, Mo Clairborne, Eric Reid were all here and thriving while Raymond was elsewhere.
Definitely give him credit for everything after those dudes tho:
Stingley
Ricks
White
Adams

Ron Cooper was the mastermind of the DB coaches.
Posted on 10/26/21 at 5:59 pm to BDoubleEZ
BS. Saban hired guys w SEC experience as well as Pete Jenkins

Cooper is an analyst at Bama. If Raymond leaves, I’d take him back as DB coach in a heartbeat.
Posted on 10/26/21 at 6:23 pm to StTiger
Honey Badger and P.P created DBU under Cooper.

You're probably the same guy who wanted to retain Les in 2015, hire Ed and now you probably want Aranda?

Pete Jenkins was at Lsu way before Saban .

I think Pete came with Bo Rein's staff in '80.

His connections in New Orleans alone make him an asset on any staff. I don't know why anybody wouldn't want him.
