I like the hire but I don’t think he has really said anything of substance yet.

For example, we are aligned. Besides winning, what are the specifics? What is this vision that SW shared with him? All I’ve heard are generalities.

I don’t have issues with the hire. He has an incredible track record. I’ll wait to excited when the results show up.

Think Bama. From the top - to the football player, everyone is all-in on winning a Championship.

No one is cutting the football head coach off at the knees.

Get on board, or leave!

He said the offense will be suited to the personnel.

Some times that means a running team and leaning on the defense and sometimes that means wide open with 3 and 4 wide.

We won't know till the games start if that will happen.

I do like how he uses every part of the team.

Think back to the days of Alexander, Aleva and Miles. Think about why O was ever given the job in the first plce.

There was no clear vision and definitely no alignment. It's something that you can't say what it looks like but you know it when you see it and hear it.

Maybe its a lie and he's just making it up but it sounds like, to me, that he feels a similar vibe, vision and approach from inside the org to/through Woodward all the way to Tate's office.

Maybe he said it and it wasn't quite factual, but what is a fact is that NOBODY has said that about LSU in quite some time.

I would love the downvotes to go on record.

Again, state your negative vibes.

No negative vibes. I like the hire better than Les or O and even when Saban was hired. I just wait for results before getting excited.

That's what I needed to hear.

That's one reason I've always disliked these offensive genius head coaches- they are wed to a system with not much room for adaptation through a system. If you are locked into a system, whether it be spread or Milesball, when you encounter equally talented (or better) teams they can exploit matchups because they are adaptable and you are not while having the personnel to enact those often very simple adjustments.

It also limits you in recruiting somewhat.

I wish I was on Kelly's staff.

No. He has never shaken my hand.

But he is/was my first choice because he can coach football.

And thank goodness for the generalities. I remember the Peetz first lengthy presser. I was impressed big time. But with all the details he laid out almost none of it was evident on the field. We could use a little less talk and a lot more action.
