One thing to consider: People say Fickle will not leave Ohio. People also said Chris Petersen will never leave Boise State. SW has a way of enticing Coaches away from places they supposedly would never leave.

Anybody who thinks LSU couldn’t convince Fickell to leave Cincy when they would double his pay is delusional. If it was $1 million raise then maybe not. But LSU can pay him enough to move his family.

Dude says he is not spending the money he makes now. His six kids are happy where they are. Not everyone is motivated by money.

I left Ohio and never looked back. No regrets, not one.

Luke would be a great long-term LSU hire...

You think lsu would be the first to offer fickell a big payday? That money tucker is about to get paid with was supposed to go to fickell and he turned them down. Imo if Woodward got fickell to come to lsu and the sec it'd be his most impressive hire yet.

You don’t think he’d eventually leave for OSU whenever that job came open?

I wouldn't worry about that at all. Day is killing it there and doesn't seem to be slowing down. Hire the best available and keep him should be the motto.

They passed him by after he was the interim coach.

No, I don't think is a concern whatsoever...

He’s a coach and his family knows it. Moving often is the nature of the profession.

Nobody should spend the salary they receive. That’s stupid. A huge sum of everyone’s salary should go to savings/investments. If he cares for the well being of his family, he will take a huge pay increase so that he can better provide for his family’s future.

Wherever he ends up he’ll say in his press conference that he didn’t do it for the money (despite the huge pay raise he gets).

Not saying he’d leave, but if you’re a college head coach who’s not motivated my money you’re a fool. If you’re at risk of getting fired for 2 losing seasons you had better be getting all you can get
