I think we likely are too but on the offensive side you can have some overlap. Denbrock can coach TEs and OC which is what he currently does. Frank Wilson is also on staff and could coach RBs if needed.

ETA: I didn't see you list Wilson does he count towards the 10?

Forgot about Frank but you that means you already have 8 coaches (with the hypothetical Denbrock) and you still have to have a Qb coach and a WR’s coach.

You just don’t have the room to add another defensive on field coach.

ETA: can’t believe I forgot about Frank. I edited my original post.

Now what could happen is if the OC hire isn’t Denbrock and is a QB guy. You could see the TEs get absorbed by either Kelly, Davis or the WR coach freeing up an interior dline coach. I personally find that unlikely though.

USC 247 is in meltdown mode over losing him so I say that’s a good sign.

Yeah I think you're right.

So if we end up with Hankton at WR coach, wilson at RB coach, and ???(Peetz) as QB coach, that would be a very solid staff in terms of coaching and recruiting on both sides of the ball.

If I had to put money on it I would say Denbrock is the OC, but with some of the surprises we have had this off-season it wouldn't surprise me at all if it's someone no one sees coming.

I would like to see Denbrock bring the Cinci Qb Coach with him but Cinci fans seem to think he’ll be promoted to OC so that may be unlikely. I wouldn’t be happy with Peetz being retained as QB coach. It looked to me like Max regressed under his tutelage. I trust Kelly but I would heavily question that decision

Dang, that's high praise in that article. Actually uses "home run hire" in it,too.

Me too. Probably the biggest head scratcher of all the hires if that's the case. I would be surprised if he is retained but according to this board him and Kelly have a good relationship.

According to this board Riley is the head coach, Lebby is the OC and Elmo is the DC. Excuse me if I ignore everything “according to this board”.

I agree with you 100% on that and also, I'm no grammar police but I got a good chuckle out of this autocorrect:

and Elmo is the DC.

A muppet as DC seems more like an O hire.

Are you going to sit here and tell me, with a straight face, that Pelini isn’t a muppet?

Found this video of an interview of Cain when he was at OU. Love his passion towards recruiting!

I don’t want (Peetz) anywhere around LSU football. Maybe as off field coach. Our QB went backwards under him.

I wouldn't be thrilled with him staying either. Maybe the OC will pick the QB coach and that's what we are waiting on. I have no sources. Just speculating possible outcomes on the final staff.
