The fact that they’re 8-4 despite beating Utah and not playing Oregon should speak for how mediocre they have looked at times this year. That loss to BYU was completely unacceptable.
I feel the real reason Helton is getting another chance is the injury bug. They were down to their 3rd and 4th string qbs for most of the season. The new offense has been relatively successful under Graham Harrell. I want to see what it can do with another year.

Feldman is doubling down on his reporting here. He has the best sources at USC of anyone so someone is leaking this slowly to lower the backlash from the fanbase.
