No. He heard it from this board.

When are we going to realize that we control the information? Someone on here presents "info", which the media then picks up on & recycles back to us, which we then use as substantiation to the info that we were fed.

Undoubtedly.

People do not understand that these "authoritative" news outlets troll message boards for information and probably got that from the Coaching Changes board.

BTW, Happy Thanksgiving.

Now get the frick back to the SEC Rant where you belong, gump.

The only thing is, if you hire Herman, do you have to worry about him leaving later on?

If you hire a young gun, you're gonna have to deal with that possibility no matter who he is. May as well get the best you can.

If Herman is the next Urban then I'm in. As in if he's here six years and wins us two championships, fakes a heart attack, and then signs with Texas it'll still be worth it.

Just hire the best coach you can and deal with that stuff as it comes.

Literally every coach LSU has hired since Stovall has inspired this kind of sentiment:

Miles- Michigan
Saban- NFL
Dinardo- Notre Dame
Curley- Bama or A&M
Archer- Miami
Arnsparger- Back to NFL

Only 1 of those actually happened. Just hire the best guy.

If he wins us a Natty, I'm willing to have him just 3 years.

I think you do, yes, but if you're determined to hire the very best, that's a fact of life under most circumstances.

Not for Jimbo, which is why he's my 1a choice, but if that's not happening, take the wunderkind, enjoy the next 4-5 years at the minimum, and move on.

Where could Herman go that is better than LSU? As I've said before, LSU is a top 5 job!

I agree, but you never know if he really wants to be at a school like USC or Texas. Roy Williams left Kansas for UNC. Kansas is clearly a top 5 job in college basketball. Urban Meyer basically left Florida for Ohio State, maybe part of the reason was Urban was actually FROM Ohio. Hell, even Les Miles flirted with Michigan.

I'm just saying...

At the time, UNC was the better gig. Not by much (thanks to Williams), but the better gig, nevertheless.

Nothing against Kansas... Never been there. But I imagine living on the east coast in NC is much better and North Carolina is where basketball is king.

Look if it's Herman and he leaves after 2 national championships in 5 years I promote Aranda at that point to HC. You Never Let Aranda Leave LSU !!!
