You sound like you are talking out of your arse, to be honest.

One thing I think Orgeron wants and needs is a guy who will aggressively recruit top QBs nationwide. Canada has proven to be a bust from a recruiting standpoint. O won't, and shouldn't, cede staff/hiring decisions to a guy who has proven that he doesn't give a shite about recruiting.

I realized that flawed thinking last year around this time.

Saving this for when Ensminger is named OC

You are an idiot if you support promoting the tight end coach to OC. They scored ZEREAUX points against Ala. Good grief. Your boy O promised to hire and retain "the very best coordinators." Are you really saying that Steve E. fits this bill? Really?

He fits Alleva's priorities. Easy and cheap.

Wait, i must have missed this. O honestly thought Kiffin would leave a HC job to be his OC? After being the Bama OC for 3 years already?

last year his offense (modified Cam) produced records - i.e. 600 plus yards vs. MO and 50 points vs. A&M. Not a bad choice.

You are a true believer.

Actually there is a very good reason to get the OC matter resolved; uncertainty is the enemy of recruitment and there are important decisions being made right now. Furthermore, other teams are very likely using the current state of chaos against LSU.

When EXACTLY was this????

When we hired Bo Rein? Or maybe Arnsparger?

Are you saying LSU REALLY wanted Archer, Hallman, DiNardo, Saban (at the time), and Miles?

GTFO with that BS.

This should be the official meme for the administration.

If the resolution involves naming Ensminger as OC, no, they shouldn't. We only have 4 more guys to sign. At least 2 are on the D side of the ball. Maybe all 4 targets get spooked and won't sign, but I think the better alternative would be to say we're taking extra time to get the best guy possible but in the meantime, we have talented and experienced people that will occupy the position until the permanent guy is hired.

We should NOT just settle for Ensminger.

Why can't LSU simply go out an poach someone else's coordinator like A&M did? We're offering top dollar, right?

All the while the OC we eventually hire is working feverously toward getting some of our targets to the school that he is currently works for.

Not a great plan

uh, Canada IS the OC until told otherwise. And if told otherwise, he wants his full 3.3 million dollars. That's why he hasn't been fired.

That's not necessarily true. He may be negotiating to reduce the buyout so that it won't offset. It's not really possible to know. There may be some cause that could possibly earn him no buyout.

I doubt he wants to take a year off

In that game against Alabama that you are referring too, The Bama defense was stellar in the game and totally won the field position battle. Often we were pinned deep in our own territory struggling to punch the ball out against a dominate defense. It totally wrecked our ability to run our offensive game plan. LSU's defense played great in that game too, having kept Bama scoreless until late in the game. LSU played great defense but Bama played a little better.

I didn't say it was a great plan. I said it was preferable to simply promoting Ensminger. We could literally do that at any time. I think the administration needs to get this right. If they mess up and just hire Ensminger, they should be fired. O should too. We literally could have kept Canada on staff. All those two had to do was play nicely.

Well, we only have one spot left for an offensive player. I don’t think waiting a couple of days during the dead period is going to affect things.
