Skip Holtz--good move IMO
Turner Gill--probably the second best bet behind Holtz at this point

Edsall should be on there list instead of Brewster.
Holtz, Gill, and Edsall would all be making a step up program wise and are all solid coaches IMO.

Yeah. UConn is just coming up from I-AA. To have the success they've already have in a BCS conference, that's one hell of a coach.

It's a close call, but I think the potential at Kansas as far as deep pockets go is greater in regards to football. Both are basketball schools, but Kansas IMO seems like it is more dedicated to it's football program improving as a whole.

Also, there is only so much you can do in the Big East on a national scale (see Cincy). But if you win a lot and often in the Big 12 you get a lot of national recognition.

Amazed that KU hasn't just flat out handed this job to Edsall, Lou Perkins hired Edsall at UConn and you know he's kept up with both UConn and Edsall's success...

maybe any BCS game, but not the BCSCG. Also, it's about money and I think Kansas will just fork over more. Again, that is just IMO.

Brewster is a god awful choice, but Edsall isn't necessarily a step up. He was hired by Lew Perkins at UConn, and that's about the only connection to KU he has. Not that every candidate has a connection to KU, but Edsall isn't the guy for the job. In fact, he's already been removed from the list.
With that said, I think he's done a fine job at UConn, but Gill can recruit much better. It may not show up in Buffalo's recruiting rankings, but Gill has an eye for talent.
I personally like what Skip Holtz has done at East Carolina. Both he and Gill can recruit the South. Gill can recruit Texas. Edsall doesn't venture out of his own backyard any further than Pennsylvania.

Not that it is close to the South as far as talent goes, but the Northeast is no bare cupboard. Think of New Jersey alone(Moreno, Pryor, Rolle from FSU, etc.) Also, Pennsylvania always spits out some talent.

I understand that, but Gill is getting kids from Florida, Georgia, and other states in the South to go to Buffalo. UConn >>> Buffalo in terms of prestige.
I know PA and OH are gold mines, and NJ has produced some pretty bad arse players as well, and Gill is accustomed to getting talent in the NE. All I'm saying is that Gill has expanded his recruiting grounds, whereas Edsall has not.

Holtz and Gill are 2 very good options. I think Holtz is the better choice as he has proven himself more than Gill and has beaten more top ranked teams.
But Gill would be a good choice because of his Big 12 background.
