I think you could say that about wherever he is coaching next year. How this has played out, if he fails at his next job (OM, LSU, Florida) ADs will forever be hesitant to hire him and give him a 3rd chance.

What f’ing news? People need to quit freaking the F out constantly and just let this thing play out for a week. Chances are we got our guy now just let him coach his team’s last game already and be patient.

I can understand the feelings of misgiving on the boards part. This is a complex situation with a lot of moving parts. There is OM trying to get into the play offs, there is LSU trying to land a coach and Florida trying to do the same. I truly believe Lane is trying to make this break as easy as possible but it's tough to do given the present situation. We'll know after Sunday if Lane is coming because of the deadline LSU gave him. If we are still looking at other coaches Monday or Tuesday then he isn't coming. I believe he has given us a firm verbal and last minute things have to be ironed out.

Please explain.
From what I and most people on here see, LSU has found their target and they are pushing as hard as they can to land their guy. That's not getting played. That's how you hire a prominent coach who has options. LSU was never going to announce a new coach until after this weekend because any candidate they were targeting (outside of those not currently coaching) are still coaching their teams this season.
