Good coach. I guess this means Fitzpatrick May be sticking around another year.

Do people just say this stuff because they’ve heard a coaches name before?

I thought the OC from this year did a really admirable job given the lack of overall talent.

The dolphins have nothing to lose yet have found a way to lose more in coaching hires. I don’t want Joe Brady to leave but you would think they might take a risk?

Very odd choice. My guess is the Dolphins wanted a very experienced coach to be head coach of the offense. O’Shea had never been a Coordinator before. Also, I read it was reported that they were desperate to keep Caldwell. Not really sure how this move helps you do that.

He recruited Flores out of high school and is sort of a mentor.
Also the fitz connection plus the guy knows spread offense

Only time will tell but Flores is a good coach and it was his decisiom

Gailey will help the Dolphins transition to a true spread offense. That's his specialty. Flores is a defensive minded head coach so he needs someone he can trust with the offense. Chan is in his late sixties so he won't be around forever. They can then give the keys to a younger coach after they get the scheme and personnel needed.

Why not just skipping to the younger coach now instead of grabbing a guy off the 18th hole that has only one year that produced a top 10 offense in the NFL during his entire career?

The same reason Chad O'Shea got axed, Flores needed some one he trusted to transition the team to a spread concept. It's not like he didn't like O'Shea they worked together at N.E., he wanted to go to a spread and O'Shea runs his version of McDaniels' complicated pro style offense. It's been already noted that Flores wanted an offense less complicated because he knows he's going to have a very young team next year.

All that’s telling me is that he’s hiring a friend instead of the best dude for the job.
