Flores needed some one he trusted to transition the team to a spread concept.
These guys are paid to perform, Chan Gailey is not going to do anything to change the fortunes of that team. He will be an anchor that drags them down.

Gailey had decent success with Fitzmagic with the Jets.
Flores said definitively after their last game that Fitz was his qb next year.
They can get a qb, even in the 1st round with all their picks and sit him and build the team up over the next 2 or 3 years.
They won 5 games this year when all the "experts" said they had the worst roster in the sport.
