I personally don’t see it at his age, though someone on ESPN said “he’s on a lot of people’s lists.”

I think any P5 program with a pulse will be concerned with his age and I don’t think Fritz would move for a full scale rebuild or to coach a perennial bottom feeder like Mississippi State.

He has done a great job at Tulane and for what he’s already accomplished, there is no pressure on him. If he has mostly winning seasons from here on out, they’ll build him a statue. I think Fritz coaches the Green Wave until he retires.

Only to get one last paycheck. A 4 year, 5 mil a year type retirement check.

If Elko moves up, I could see him taking the Duke job. It has similar “reasonable” admin and fan expectations to Tulane but with a P5 salary and better competition level. And Elko has done a really good job of rebuilding them into a good program, so it wouldn’t be a rebuild. He would be stepping into a good spot. Fritz also looked like he was ready to head to GT last year before their administration fell all over themselves. Same conference and type of program.

Maybe Kansas offers a similar situation if Leopold leaves, with possibly even better pay. He would have an interesting opportunity in that conference with UT and OU out of the way. He would be a perfect follow-up to a guy like Leopold, in my opinion.

Those are two I could see making sense for him, but he may be happy enough where he is to finish his career at Tulane.

He could go quite a few places if he packaged himself with the Tulane QB

Check his record out from 2016-2021, against weak competition. I'm concerned his 2022/2023 success has a lot to do with a generational QB.
