It's the same as it was originally.

Same buyout. It doesn't change that much.

Same, that is the other way this could have ended. Michigan buyout = $100 million. Go ahead and refinance that ARM mortgage Les, you are going to stay awhile

if they were so sure he was staying here, why is the buyout to michigan still there??

yeah i don't get why they didn't increase it. it would seem that if the price were a lot higher , then it would make it a more difficult decision for UM and Les to get out of it. Tubberville had a buyout of $6million if he left for another school.

Does the new contract
There is no NEW contract it is simply an extension of the previously existing contract. There is a MAJOR difference between new contract and contract extension. Meaning all of the old clauses are in full effect the only that changed is the time and there were extra perks thrown in for Miles.

See? No matter what, it fuels the chicken little speculation. They keep the buyout, "why do that unless he wants to go?" They don't raise the buyout dramatically, "why not do that unless he wants to go?"

new contract =the one he signed last week.
it is just semantics that you want to differentiate between the words 'contract extension' and 'new contract.'
in fact, there were reportedly a lot of new incentives that were ADDED in based on performance. wouldn't you consider that a 'new contract'????

At the very least it should have been increased to a 5mil buyout for UM, someone dropped the ball.
