Does Jimbo have what it takes to beat a Saban-coached Alabama as LSU head coach?

Might as well get right to the elephant in the room.
Can Jimbo recruit and coach an O-line capable of winning in the trenches against Bama's D-line? Can he coach up whoever the QB is and come up with an offensive game plan that doesn't involve getting shut out embrassingly on the biggest stages?
God I just want LSU to beat Saban once or twice before he hangs up his boots at Alabama.

That's one of the reason I'm not crazy about Fisher.
BAMA struggles with a full blown spread with a QB that can make plays with his arms and legs.
If you can't get by BAMA, you'll finish with the same record and trophies as O would.

He did in the past for sure. They've moved to something different in the last couple years though. It's more spread than traditional pro-style now. Not really a HUNH spread but it isn't that funky I formation crap we've been doing here the last 12 years either.

No, because of the same reason Prom stated. Athletic QBs running a spread offense give Bama fits. Not a drop back passing attack out of a pro-style offense.

With Aranda, there is no doubt. It will be important to find a suitable replacement when Aranda leaves to be a head coach but I'm willing to take that chance if Jimbo is the guy.
