Being an assistant, especially a coordinator, at LSU is an extremely rewarding, valuable, prestigious, and important job. It provides you with the opportunity to work with some of the most talented athletes in the entire country at a school with a storied past and rich tradition. You will play against the best opponents in the country in the most powerful conference. You will have every opportunity to be successful because of the resources and support that will be at your disposal. You will be rewarded greatly for your work as you will be one of the highest compensated assistants in the country.

With the rewards and value of the position comes expectations. We will expect you to be successful. Period. If you are in charge of the offense, we will expect the offense to be productive. We will expect our team to score points. We will expect the offense to move the ball and accumulate yards. We will expect the extremely talented players under your direction to be developed, utilized, and ultimately capitalized to maximum efficiency. We will expect insightful and exploitative game planning and timely play calling. We will expect problems that are encountered to be solved. We will expect any difficulties and struggling aspects to be improved. We expect production. Failure to accomplish such expectations should result in you being relieved of your responsibilities and the abundant rewards that come with your position.

Crowton, IMO, has failed at these expectations this year. The responsibility of a properly utilized and productive offense falls on his shoulders and the product of his work resulted in what we all struggled to watch on the field this year. I cannot sit and watch any longer how Crowton is using our beloved Tigers. His game plans are unimpressive. His play calling is, to use the most polite terms, circumspect and ill-advised. The offense is predictable, uncreative, inefficient, and ultimately unproductive. The QBs have shown no improvement under his tutelage. Our talent is failing to be properly utilized.

This offense has shown no improvement from the first game in September to the last game on Friday. Every single game this year, it has been painful to watch this talented team struggle to move the ball. This LSU team resulting in the 108th (or whatever it exactly is) ranked offense is simply unacceptable. Perhaps Crowton is not a bad coach. Sometimes, for whatever reasons, things do not work out and competent people fail. Even in such an event, it is necessary to move in another direction.

The LSU offense is a Ferrari. It is time the keys were taken away from Crowton and given to someone else. I am sure there are plenty of competent, intelligent, and creative offensive coaches out there that would love the opportunity to direct the LSU offense and the arsenal of weapons that it possesses. How could it get worse? Could we drop from 108th (or whatever the exact number is) to dead last? We should expect better. We deserve better. The players deserve better.
