I am hoping that Coach Miles gets it. What ever people might think of him, he left LSU in good shape. Plus I would like to have Kiffin as our OC, because Kiffin and Coach O are great friends.Coach O and Kiffin worked well together at USC.

Kiffin had a great interview, and is the leading candidate

I hear a lot of people that are Miles supporters that they want Miles to get the Houston job. I personally think that is a big mistake. The one thing that Miles did well and can't be disputed is his recruiting prowess. I don't want Miles anywhere near LSU's recruiting grounds. I am not saying Houston is a threat to beat LSU out on the players it wants, but Miles is a magician when it comes to recruiting and to think he will not be a thorn in our sides in recruiting in the area is a big mistake.

If you want Miles to get the job so Kiffin doesn't the odds that are out right now on who gets the Houston job are one of its two coordinators either Orlando or Applewhite are said to have the inside track. So we don't need Miles to get the job to keep Kiffin out of the job.

I would have to think Kiffin is not at the top because he will not be staying there longer than 3-4 years if he does well. My guess is either miles or hiring DC orlando from within.

someone who does poorly may only be there 3-4 years, you can't not hire the best candidate for fear they could depart for a bigger gig. That's retarded.

Those are clearly the fall back plans and their preference is to hire a name coach from outside their program.

either Orlando

A man whose Defense gave up 46 to Navy, 38 to SMU, and 48 to Memphis - all losses.

or Applewhite

A man who was reprimanded for having an affair with a female student working as an athletic trainer while on a bowl trip. Him getting the HC job would be a bit of a surprise.

bamasgot13, you are thinking a coach having an affair is a bad thing to have around your resume'? Some LSU fans are seriously wanting Art Briles to be the OC. Let his off the field resume' sink in. Nothing surprises me any more when it comes to schools hiring coaches.

Maybe he was trying to get on Petrino's staff and it was a requirement, can't fault him for that one then!

One would think that, but you never know.

I think he could get an OC job somewhere and work his way back up, but in Texas, at Houston, people would use that inappropriate relationship against him when talking to mommas about recruiting their son. He cheated on his 8 months pregnant wife. That's hard to get over for some people - especially women, understandably.

Has anyone else interviewed yet? Of course lane is leading if he's the only one to interview so far. Lol. I hope he gets it.. I still think he has potential to be a damn good HC. Hopefully Saban helped him mature. If he doesn't get it I would welcome him with open arms at Lsu. We are starving for offensive & qb development

I'm sure the internal candidates have already interviewed. Also, it's not like Miles had a game to get ready for, so he's probably already talked with them.

I believe tilman fertitta(not 100% sure if he or the UH president said it), BOS member of UH wants someone who will not use UH as a stepping stone. That was my point of Kiffin not being the leading candidate.

Well by Alleva's standards, Kiffin is off the table regardless if he gets the UH job. Joe only wants people who want to be here with no negotiations....
