Why not start the HC off with an experienced DC.
BK will have enough to worry about with the rebuild. I'd rather him not trying to work with a second year coordinator as well.
Hoping Jimmy Lake is the guy.

I think most just want the BEST staff possible and to not just keep leftover staff for continuity or because it's comfortable! HIRE THE BEST MAN OR WOMAN FOR THE POSTION!

A lot of ppl are high on him at the end of regular season but he just gets paid too much.. which he did a good job but we will see what Kelly wants to do.

He's got a lot of potential. If Kelly sticks with him, I'd be fine with that. If not, Jones will do good moving forward at his next gig. Either way, LSU and Jones will both be OK.
Now, if you could land someone like Freeman, you send Jones down the road immediately. Whoever it is, I trust Kelly to vet them thoroughly and make a good decision... damn, that feels weird to trust an LSU HC to make an outstanding hire. Something in my conditioning still just doesn't feel right about that

No no no. You don’t give a pass to a DC who led us to 6-6 and didn’t call a blitz for half the season.
We can do better with guys that have more P5 experience.
Hell we can do better recruiting coaches from local HS.
