Do we know anything about Aranda's desire to be a HC now?

I know there has been a lot of speculation, I feel, based solely on his demeanor about him not wanting the top spot, at least right now. But has there been anything as far as past interviews that would give us a hint as to where he might stand IF offered the position? I think I speak for a good number of us here that if Jimbo and Herman are off the table, Aranda over Orgeron. I like O and his recruiting prowess, but I really missed having an LSU defense like this and would be all for locking Aranda up in some fashion.
Would he take the HC position at this point?

Yes he would take it in a heartbeat

You have no clue if he does or doesn't.
Some coaches have no desire to be a HC.

He doesn't seem like the HC type to me for some reason. He stays out of the light and not much of a recruiter. He's a hard guy to read but from what I've seen his personality isn't HC material IMO

That opinion is outright contradicted by the only concrete evidence on either side. His contract.
The contract he negotiated with LSU specifically allows him to walk immediately, with no buyout, if he is hired away to be a head coach elsewhere.

Again, speculation based on nothing but superficial observations of his demeanor.

Some thought the same with Bob stoops not wanting to be a HC. Me I thought Stoops would be an excellent HC back 1995.

His contract isn't concrete evidence. His agent probably wanted that in just in case. How many assistant coaches don't have that in their contract?

Any assistant coach with no interest in a head coaching position would have no reason to negotiate that out clause. Contract negotiation is a give and take. In exchange for giving that security to the program, you can ask for more money or other desired issues.
Everything we know about Aranda suggests an outstanding young coach who is on the move rapidly upwards. With those kinds of guys you almost never get a second chance. I am fine with LSU losing him if we hire a proven or other great young coach with an outstanding football mind - but I will probably have a seizure if we let one of the best football minds in the country walk so we can take a chance on a guy with a questionable history.

i dont think he would take just any job but if the money, ability to win, and commitment to the program from the administration are all there then yeah he gone.

You've probably posted it already, but since you've been one of the more vocal posters about this hire, I'm personally curious what are your thoughts of Aranda being hired by LSU, provided Jimbo and Herman don't take it?

I suppose it's possible that he doesn't want to be a HC but it's something I would actually have to hear him say to believe. People don't typically get into coaching with dreams of being career coordinators.

I would put him in my B group. Would prefer Aranda to Fedora or Franklin level guys. Would much prefer Aranda to O.

That's fine if I said that Aranda doesn't want to be a HC. I just said some dont. There is not one person on the board who has a clue about what Aranda wants right now.
