Lots of posts bemoaning the fact that since Tolbert and Wilson were hired, that means Crowton is staying since a new OC would hire his own staff. But strictly going off memory here, I don't remember Pelini or Crowton doing much, if any, hiring of staff when they got the jobs here. Also, weren't Haley and Cooper hired prior to Chavis last year?

I don't even think this is a Miles specific deal. i'll pay attention to the coordinator hires this year but i don't think this is that uncommon.

Georgia is one we should watch. They have to hire a DC, DE and LB Coach. Interesting to see what order they are hired in, and who "hires" them.

I don't think they do. You might give a guy some say, but I think it's rare that they just hire all the position coaches.

maybe Coop, but it seems like Chavis would've had some say on/ put in a word for Brick. weren't we still trying to nail down O when word had gotten out about Chavis?

Input at best. No decision making.

OC and DC will give some input.

When Stacy Serels was hired at LSU for the OL job, Jimbo was a large part of that one.

I made the mistake of telling someone in the media about the hire...........
He asked nick about if he was gonna hire Stacy.....

No. But some people mistakenly think it is true.

I think it depends on the situation, the AD involved, and the HC involved. In other words, it varies from school to school.
