My argument is not that hes not a good young coach - he is.
Is he being overhyped at the same time? Yes.
There are undoubtedly better candidates in my opinion.

He is not ready for the LSU job or deserving of it, at this point in his career. I think hes in a great spot at ASU.

your opinion is shite

you stated brian fricking hartline is more ready than kenny dillingham

the same brian hartline who has never called plays before this year

you named monken who hasnt been in cfb in the nil/portal era

its fine if you dont like Dillingham but at least come up with a coherent argument. that was my whole point.

you can say he isnt ready....well fine, tell us who is. and at least acknowledge that we hired on paper...the most ready last time, how did that work out?

and at least acknowledge the saban tree doesnt mean shite. they have been 50/50 at best.

hell 3 of the last 4 hires for florida have been guys from the saban tree and all 3 failed big time.

he only makes 7.5

See, this is where many are wrong. His contract is packed with big money incentives. He can earn an additional $8M in bonuses above the $7.5 mentioned. He earned over $3M in bonuses last year. He’s knocking down $10M+ without hitting all of his potential bonuses.

Have you heard of a guy named Nick Saban? Please answer this for everyone in the room and yourself: How many Championships did Saban win before LSU took a chance on an up and coming coach?

Haha that’s not how it works

For example, you don’t get both the bonus for making the conf championship game and winning it

So fricking laughable you think he is making more than Kirby

But yea I’m the dumbass

Yea dillingham is making over 8 million in bonus putting him at 14 million total yet begging for nil deals from small businesses

Bro he is in finance and I have an engineering degree with a minor in math

I promise we aren’t the ones who don’t get it

Bottom line is after all the bonuses for having the best year the school has had in over 25 years…he got 7.882

Texas Tech would beat LSU by 3 touchdowns on a bad day. Its not 1985 anymore.

The $790,000 is for winning it. I did not include the appearance bonus. Try again a-hole.

Why are you bringing Kirby into this? He has nothing to do with Dillingham's incentive structure. You really are stupid.

Kenny Dillingham earned over $3 million in bonuses above his salary for the 2024-25 season. The guy has a structure that can pull $8M in incentives above his salary.

I don't care what he made last year. That was his previous salary plus his $3M+ bonus. It's 2025. He's waaaay above that now. I'm pointing out what he can make with his incentive structure. His compensation for 2025 is $7,442,000 ($5.8M salary+$642K retention+$1,000,000 signing bonus). His separate performance bonus structure adds an additional $8,014,000 in potential earnings. His deal is that good. If he struck lightning in a bottle and everything lined up perfecting...$15,456,000. Will he? No...but his bonuses will always be giant and must be considered when another school is trying to take him away. He has a better CFB playoff bonus structure than Kirby.

Here are the links to his contracts. It's two contracts because some terms carry over. Read it for yourself. I'm correct. This dude has a killer deal. I'm not here to argue with you...that's no fun and I dislike it. This is the real deal contracts in black and white. I'm not spreading false info.

Dillingham original contract (starts on page 17)

Dillingham 2025 Extension terms. Refer to original contract for incentives not changed such a grades, graduation rate, etc.

Instead of these high salaries like BK received, coaches should be tied to performance incentives like Dillingham has in his contract. They work much harder to achieve their goals.
