LSU can offer talent and very good pay (if O is allowed), but expanding your craft of knowledge and job security for the HC isn’t there. We might have to go down the list a bit on this hire.

Would you prefer Sean Payton or O as your boss?

If true that was likely only for an interview. I don't think any offer has been given.

Freeman just said he won't discuss anything until after bowl game. Agents have been talking.

It wouldn't surprise me if Freeman turns it down.

Fickle will be the head coach at a major school after next season.

Freeman will be head coach in waiting at Cincy.

Yes, amazingly the LSU HC situation went from solid to shaky in 1 season.

That has to be something these candidates factor in.

If I were a great DC, I wouldn’t worry too much about who my boss was.

Neither O nor Payton are in position to tell a DC their job.

Don’t know whether Nielsen is a guy wanting out of the NFL & back to CFB, or if he’s an NFL guy. My guess is the latter.

Could LSU DC job be better than that? He could do well with less responsibility as DC and get a P5 job in 2-3 years

If I were Freeman & looking to be a HC, I’d see LSU as a big stage to display his talent.

If he waits around for the UC job & then bombs, his chances of getting to a P5 HC job are diminished.

I mean Bo Freakin Pelini leveraged the LSU DC job 1st pass into the Nebraska job.

That depends on whether O would triple my salary.

Crazy. The rant criticisms Miles for being to friendly (to help recruit future coaches) and Orgeron is criticized for being to much like a “boss”

Pfft. 2 good years at LSU and he could be a HC in the SEC.
