If we want to get a candidate consideration, clearly we have to flood all boards with it. Derek will see it then O will throw his Hail Mary.

Why would we go after Reeves when we can go after the worst NFL DC in recent memory?

It’s time to offer him. He’s the best available IMO. Ed, Lacoture, and Raymond would just have to pick up his slack in recruiting until the defensive results start speaking for themselves.

No, he's not.

How would he be better than Glenn Schumann? Or Lukabu? Or Ash?

Do you know why Sarkisian didn't want to keep Ash? (Obviously, he'd want his own man but nobody seems to be jumping at that job either.)

The same could be said for Freeman.

Except Freeman is also an elite recruiter, has experience at a bigger program in that role, is a very well-regarded LB coach, and we have visual proof he at least called the defense during games.

I don't think Reeves would be a BAD hire, but Freeman had a bit more going for him.

Ash runs a similar base, has had solid P5 success and he’s available.

Cincinnati? Recruiting at Cincinnati. Their regular season premiere game was Tulsa/Army? Not much bigger.

The best available that we might be able to actually hire, might not be a popular choice right now.

He's from Louisiana and his last name is partially one of LSU's colors.

Possibly, just enough of the Saban "Process Magic" and "Defensive Acumen" might have rubbed off to make him a viable candidate.

At this point, you have to take what you can get and hope for the best. (Thanks to the Eddie and Scotty shite show)
