please someone answer why in the hell Meyer would announce this less than a week before his team plays in a BCS bowl if he knew weeks ago??? Wouldn't he have announced it immediately following the SECG, OR make the the decision to announce after the bowl game? Why would he hire someone to replace Gonzales so fast if he knew he was leaving? What would the rush be? Especially, (by your train of thought) new coaches bring their "own guys" in.
So your more plausible theory is that he was in the hospital for dehydration 3 1/2 weeks ago, but those doctors didn't catch the defective heart muscle. He then went back yesterday and found out he has a defective heart muscle eventhough it's been reported by nobody that he went back to the hospital? Or do you think he self diagnosed this defective heart muscle?
Or could it maybe be that he's known, Foley's known, Gonzales has known and have already discussed who candidates would be? Maybe a Stoops coming back and bringing his own staff?

my theory is that he has known he has had health issues for quite some time and the severity and seriousness is a new development. maybe not today, but recent.
i do believe the decision was not made 3 1/2 weeks ago, i do believe gonzales did not know meyer was going to step down b/c meyer didn't know he was going to step down

unbelievable. Yes you are right UM coaches start jumping ship after following him around for years and we are to believe they didn't know squat???
Duh, I guess they must have already told him they he wasn't getting the job. This isn't rocket science.

The Charlie strong would have stayed if he had known does t sway me.
Louisiville was offering a HC job. Was he supposed to turn that down for the chance to be interviewed by Florida or the chance to be interviewed by the school who loses a coach?
Even if strong knew it would be difficult to turn down a head coach offer

Rumors are we're about to lose Kenny Carter, our running backs coach. At least now we know Gonzales only left because Meyer was leaving and not because he actually wanted to go to LSU.

Where is DiNardo disciple Kenny Carter headed?

No idea. I just got a text saying Kenny Carter might be leaving. They didn't say anything else.

What's that supposed to mean?

Don't forget that OU hired Stoops with no HC experience.

People have told me Gonzales left because he didn't want to get stuck on a sinking ship. LSU was his first opportunity and he jumped on it because he knew people on the coaching staff.

Not Vandy. But you guys aren't exactly doing very well with all the talent you have. I honestly believe LSU should be playing in the National Championship.

OU was crap when stoops was hired. They weren't the top program in the land.

Don't have an upperclassman QB, dominant OL or DL
Should have been better this year tho
