not surprising
i think he's a good coach, but he's been there long enough and that franchise is a joke right now

If you like boring offense he's a great coach. We need some excitement on that side of the ball soon or fans will be hard pressed to keep paying for the crap he's been putting on the field.
We have the number 5 Defense and the O can't help them one bit. A lot of it is WR, TE and OL issues though but still it's more boring than typical NFL football.

Would have been a bad hire at LSU. A career .500 coach in NFL 68-70. Good guy but not a very good coach. Wish him well.
Looks like Gabbert was a bust and he is the scapegoat!
Cutting David Garrard was very stupid...porobably wind up as a DC on someones staff next year....or at some school who feels lie they need a big name....like Ole Miss.
Nice looking guy, so he could wind up in the booth...

Really early in the season to be doing this.

Yeah, we would have won a ton of games with Garrard playing...you know...with that bad back and all.

Or really, really late.

Looks like Gabbert was a bust

former LSU DB coach Mel Tucker gets the interim job

Why now? Why this year? The Jags used to have some talent. They used to could compete, and Del Rio always barely held on to his job. Now this team is currently void of any talent, they have no quarterback, and it's being blamed on Del Rio?
Lots of personnel decisions are made by the organization and not the coach. I don't know if that was the case in Jacksonville, but I really don't know what this team expected. Should have drafted Tebow to at least make some money.

I think its a stretch to say Gabbert is a bust he has potential and being a bad NFL coach doesnt always equal bad college coach.
