O’s job is tied to this hire, he knows most everyone will hate it. He must have a ridiculous amount of faith in whatever he and Ensminger want to do. The bed is made.

But but but...you want O gone so you should be ecstatic. So, if this is such a bad hire, it will lead to a swift replacement of O. How's that for a defense?

To me it's nothing against Ensigmer. He may be successful, I truly doubt it, but the problem is O made promises when he was hired to have the best coordinators in the country, and not mess with the coordinators and their jobs. If this does become true he has broken both of those promises. I'm not sure how the board could approve this hire based on what he promised before hand.

As much as I like that proposition, I can't make myself root for lsu to lose. But you're right, at this point, it's a bright side I guess

You nailed it with this post.
Ensigmer isn't an elite coordinator, he's a coach that O likes. Going with local, friendly and familiar isn't how you win big.

Actually it might be worse. Unless you are one of those happy with 7 and 8 win seasons. Charlie Mac all over again. Salty enough defense to stay in most games, enough raw talent to beat the Mississippi schools and the OOC cupcakes (except Troy)

He had a couple of good years at a couple of schools before being fired.
He set several records last year vs. scrub schools.

The offense will be better than it was under Miles/Cameron at minimum. It could be better depending on how the two qb’s develop. I don’t like the hire but it’s just not as bad as people are making it seem. Ensminger is extremely respected in coaching circles.
