Why is he not being discussed at all. He is essentially Tom Herman but on the defensive side of the ball. Does he have any shot at the HC of LSU?

Also, if we hire someone else how long until he chases a HC opportunity somewhere else?

No one will be the head coach at LSU without prior HC experience.

Well, right now he's the assistant head coach. (or is it associate?)

So there's that

If the Texas job opens up, Herman is going there. I do not think Jimbo leaves FSU. Given that Lane Kiffen is the next best option, I think all options should be considered at that point so why not Aranda.

I would be in favor of hiring him. He is a defensive master mind.

We would just need a good offensive coordinator. Dave would absolutely allow him to run the offense without interference.

I wish people would stop bringing up Lane Kiffin. Rewind back to when Saban hired him. He was shite. Folks were clowning Bama for hiring him. He's a good OC, but a train wreck of a HC, and he's proven that at every stop. He looks good now, cause Saban controls his bs. Keeps him on the straight and narrow. Would not want that guy in charge of LSU's future.

I hope not because if he becomes HC it won't be at Lsu and we need him coaching our defense

I love the guy but he needs to prove himself at a mid major before taking of the reigns of a top 5 job.

I do believe I implied we should consider all other options if it came down to him being the best available option. In 6th grade language that means "Please hire anyone other than Lane Kiffen."

The defense is fine with him where he is. We need help at offense, and I'd like to see an offensive-minded HC

There are no if/and/but about it. The Texas job will open up thanks to the Les Miles firing. It can be inspirational for other programs to take the plunge.

I want to see either a skilled offensive minded head coach, or a defensive head coach that gives up the control to the OC.

LK sucks as a head coach! He is not even an option, much less the next best!
