Just wanted to let yall know I posed a question to Dandy Don asking if he has heard any rumblings about Miles looking at any particular DCs for next season. He wrote back and said Miles is happy with the Co DCs and will not make a change. FWIW

DandyDon has about as much inside info as the next guy, which is not much. He used to have a ton of inside info with the basketball program back when Brady & Co were still coaching because he was good friends with and talked often with Butch Pierre. He gets some info at times from the football program but it's nothing special. In my personal opinion I don't think there is anyway Miles fires his 2 DC's and or gets another DC comming off an 8-4 or 9-3 season. He will give them another year atleast.

Best news I've heard all day. This pretty much means we're getting a new DC

Just so you know, I get emails about recruiting and other stuff from a guy who is involved with LSU broadcasting that he gets from his LSU contacts. Anyway, the Dandy one is on the distribution list and I would say a legit 75% of the stuff in his email about Lsu ends up on dandy don's site. Just saying.

Thats funny I emailed DD a question (After the Ga game) as to weather or not LM hires a new DC. His response was He'd better or he will be in trouble with the many of the fans. ( Or something to that effect.) In any event I will say I am in favor of a new DC. Its crazy he did not interview for one last year. Dfense inconsistent this year so far.

personally I wouldn't mind if Miles ran off Peveto and gave Mallory the solo gig. I just don't want a 2 headed defense. I have also heard good things about Mallory and have seen terrible results from Peveto so far with Sp. teams and defense. At least Mallory put a quality secondary on the field when that was his position.

If by inconsistent you mean consistently bad all year than you will be correct.

Unfortunately i'm afraid DD might be right on this one. I talked to a member of the LSU staff today and he told me that Despite pressure from TAF members, it looks like Miles is going to keep the DC's. There will be a few changes but he said Miles will not change the DC's as he thinks it is the players not the coaches.

while I hope Coach Miles handles the DC situation the best way possible, it's great he doesn't give in to taf even though taf is an important/influential organization. For everyone who wishes Saban was still around, that's pretty "saban" of Miles
that is if this stement is in fact, fact.

I have heard different information courtesy of belowpar on the Rant today, who pretty much all but said the DC's are done.

If you don't know who he is...go back and do a search on him. He is the most reliable poster on the board and has inside info...

Didn't he (Miles) stand in DiNardo's wedding or vice versa. You would think he would have learned a lesson from his past failures. Maybe he should give ol' Gerry a call.

If no change is made, Miles better be right or his seat will start warming pretty quickly despite the MNC he backed into. The DiNardo era wasn't that long ago and people will be more apt to make a change before back to back 3-8, 2-9 seasons because Miles wants to hire/promote lackeys instead of coaches.

DiNardo ranoff Reese and hired Tepper.
DiNardo ranoff Watts and promoted McConnell.
DiNardo was promptly dismissed.

Miles thinks it is mostly the players

Miles also thought it would be okay to bring Bill Clay from Okie St as his DC. It was a large negative fan reaction that prevented this error in judgment from taking effect. Looks like we may have to take the same tack now to prevent the demise of our program.

I dont understand why people are so focused on this. Him standing in DiNardos wedding doesnt mean he is the same coach..

Because Miles and DiNardo both drink water from time to time, both have/do live(d) in Baton Rouge, both have been/are coach of LSU, both need O2 to survive. Sounds like they are the same person...

Dandy Don doesn't have inside information. He reads the various internet sites and the Advocate and then summarizes it, in a sugar coated way of course.

"Backed into" or not, he won the thing outright.

Please explain the relevance here.

Are you saying Miles os making Gerry's marriage fail? You are losing me here.
