New Cowboys’ HC Mike McCarthy stayed over Jerry Jones’ house on Saturday night, per source. “Once you stay at Jerrry’s house, he doesn’t lose his guy,” said source.

I mean, i guess he's a pretty good coach with a decent resume, but only winning 1 SB with freaking Aaaaaron Rodgers is...

Sean Payton - Drew Brees: 1
Mike Holmgren - Brett Favre: 1
Tony Dungy - Peyton Manning: 1
Pete Carroll - Russell Wilson: 1

Do we need to go on??

Given the circumstances and the ways Jerry Jones usually operates, this is about as good a hire as we could expect.

Good hire if he has adapted his scheme. Can’t run the exact same offense with no wrinkles for years.

McCarthy has a past history of not dealing well with a prima-donna. Jerry Jones is the biggest PD in the NFL and Dallas has several on the squad.

McCarthy went 125-77-2 in 13 seasons as the Packers head coach, giving him a winning percentage (.618) tied with Andy Reid and just above John Harbaugh, Bill Walsh, and Tom Landry. He won one Super Bowl with the Packers, but his time in Green Bay ended in part because of a frayed relationship with Aaron Rodgers.

Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report reported in April that Rodgers’s grudge against McCarthy went all the way back to 2005, when McCarthy was San Francisco’s offensive coordinator and preferred Alex Smith to Rodgers in the NFL draft.

wow. Rodgers sure is a petty bitch.

So basically Rodgers really wanted to stay out west with his soy boys and gay boys. Mccarthy didnt take him then so he held against Mccarthy for years. Rodgers really is a terrible person. His brother has been trying to tell us.

On topic, I think this is an ok hire for the cowboys. Not sure how Jerry and MCcarthy egos will mesh.

So why do NFL teams just keep hiring already been fired coaches?

I don't keep up with the pros. I seriously don't know what happened to him at Green Bay or when he was even there.

Good record, won a SB.

The issue was he failed to adapt. His offense got stale. He ran the exact same offense year after year and everyone caught on.

This year off from football he’s worked his arse off adapting and learning. If he can truly learn and adapt I think this is a GREAT hire.

I watched the McCarthy method earlier today. For a year he has gotten with other coaches and schemed, watched tape, put together a possible staff and became more knowledgeable than ever. Dude has it together now for another run, if Jerry will let him.
