#Wyoming will announce North Dakota St's Craig Bohl Sunday as its new head coach, per source. He's 40-2 last 3 seasons.

Won't be there long. He'll get them to a bowl and get a better gig. He'll be an AQ coach before all is said and done.

Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade for him

I agree. Feel like ND St could beat Wyoming and feel like he could have done better

That's the level of job FCS coaches usually get.
UNLV's had some crazy good record at one of those Big Sky type schools.

Does he leave them now? Or after the playoffs

think the same. Wyoming is an awful job for a climber. I'd much rather take a sun belt job that gets you attention down south or if you want a B1G job then take a MAC job. But who the frick even knows Wyoming exists?

Maybe he'll stay for a year get some FBS experience and Nebraska will fire Bo next year?

A sunbelt school isn't going to hire from that conference. They'll hire from the Southland, although they're leery (remember McNeese's coach at ULM). Even Willie Fritz can't get a real look.
Pat Dye, Joe Tiller, Fred Akers, Dennis Erickson, Bill Lewis coached at Wyoming...that's probably more than have moved up at all of the sunbelt schools combined.
Hudspeth hasn't gotten any real looks. Stockstill is still at MTSU and the guy from Troy is still there. The only 2 that did move up were Freeze and Malzan each of whom were at Ark State for 1 year.

This kind of like Malzahn Arkansas State one year and gone.

Yeah, that's what makes it odd to me. I'm sure he'd make that jump but most coaches don't go to a school thinking they are one and done. Maybe he's just hedging bets in case Pelini sticks around longer.

Supposedly Wyoming is paying him $1.2m and he was making $350k at NDSU. That seems to be a pretty meaningful reason to jump.

This ain't your daddy's Sun Belt. The SB has come of age and it's getting more attention. Just in the last few years Freeze, Malzahn, and Taggart have all been hired out of the SB. Petrino and Franchione both coach there now. Bryan Harsin may take the Boise job. Coaches are moving in and out of the SB at a pretty decent clip of late.

Hudspeth has only been there 3 years and while his name hasn't been mentioned yet, it won't surprise me to see him take another job this year anyway. It's not exactly like he's been mired in the SB for life. MTSU is now CUSA btw (I think they took y'alls place even) and Blakeney has been at Troy since 1991 when they were D2 (not 1AA). He's 66 and ain't leaving.

Bad time for him to announce this imo

Well, on reconsideration, you're right. I forgot about Taggart.
They still languish behind C-USA for bowls and TV deals.

Good move for him. He knows the area well for recruiting. He can parlay this into a Big Time job if he does well. The salary increase alone makes this worthwhile. People have won at Wyoming.
