Remember Genro, these are the same fans that said Saban couldn't do what he did at LSU at Bama.

More attacks and BS. That may fly on sec rant but we're actually trying to have a real discussion here.

Let's put it this way. Texas will not won their division. They will not make a conference championship game.

UT would have made the title game in 2008 if Saban was their coach and nothing else changes

1. the period before saban. we're talking what? a decade+ of mediocrity?
2000-2006

So no, less than a decade. Bama dominated the West in the 90s.

not with the bull shite "unwritten rules" they're going to use like winning your conf.

i don't agree with this stuff, but it's going to be reality

they may not have even made it in 2011

yeah, assuming they are headed towards taking conference champs in almost every case the football world is changing dramatically to get away from human polls and towards a tournament of champions when it comes to declaring a national champ.

My sentiments exactly.

Monty is a TROLL. Thread is about can Saban do well at Texas and all he can do is discuss Bama vs LSU. If we were on the sec rant he'd be "LSUSESSED"!

Did I do that right?

Nope, not attacking. Just pointing out how easy it is to generalize a fan base. Some LSU fans said and believed it, but not all.

the west is not a conference and it was pretty much trash in the 90s. the SEC East was much stronger in that decade

If there's a two year run where Mississippi State is arguably the best program in the West you have a severely down division.

You are just said we mediocre for over a decade. That's patently false.

Sorry.

More.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more.

Texas is FAR more national a brand than Bama. And it isn't close.

LINK #1 to Bama's #2 in merchandise sales.. .and Texas sucked while Bama won a fricking national title.

No, just using the historical data that is available to gauge the possibility of future outcomes. Not all variables are able to be calculated simply because they aren't tangible but using the LSU vs. Bama is very significant to the argument.

i'd say the % of LSU fans who said saban would fail at Bama are equal to the % of Bama fans who have full back tats of da Bear

Divisions began in 92

From 92-99, Bama won the west 5 out of 8 times, as well as a National Title, and multiple SEC titles

Totally sporadic
