Very good point actually. Forget SOS, all you need is to be top 4 (or probably top 8 soon) and you're in the hunt.

obviously it should be easier for him to succeed there than at Alabama.

Better recruiting territory
Unlimited resources
Easier road to wining his conference
Upcoming playoff system which places an emphasis on winning your conference.

Saban has been tremendous at Alabama but has won the SEC exactly twice since getting there (2009, 2012) seven seasons ago. He can probably win the Big 12 at Texas more than 50% of the time and perhaps more.

I'm going to play devil's advocate on this. What about all the spread teams that he has trouble stopping? Baylor, OSU, etc. Won't they give him all the fits in the world. It is his cryptonite

If we already had a 4-team playoff, Alabama would've made it 5 times in 6 years under Saban.

The future is bright. Bama will be in the hunt every year.

The question was which place would be easier to do it at. We know Saban is great and Bama is great.

Alabama obviously. They're already at the pinnacle.

not with the bullshite "unwritten rules" they're going to use like winning your conf.

i don't agree with this stuff, but it's going to be reality

they may not have even made it in 2011

Remember Genro, these are the same fans that said Saban couldn't do what he did at LSU at Bama.

I wonder if he would have snuck his way into the title game at Texas without winning their division like he did at bama

So was LSU but historically Bama is a better program with more success.

Saban would never be able to win at Texas with all those Big 12 teams in the way....

Because winning in the SEC is apparently easy.

Let's put it this way. Texas will not won their division. They will not make a conference championship game. Even if Saban goes there and gets them to #1

yeah i don't think these bama posters are really looking at 2 periods

1. the period before saban. we're talking what? a decade+ of mediocrity?

2. the run UT went on 2004-2009 WITH mack brown as their head coach
