Here you are. Texas is 7-1-1 against Alabama. Even your beloved Bear Bryant grabbed his ankles, got broken down like a double barrel shotgun and corn holed by Texas.

Yep, Bama's legend never beat UT's legend, DKR.
Head to head evidence of coaching superiority. Hell, DKR even taught Bear the wishbone. Bryant was so grateful, he offered to build an extra room onto Royal's house.

alabama may claim more ships but saban at UT would be the end of CFB as we know it

Geez, if you're going to link stats can you not find something a little more up to date? Those stats only go through the 2010 season.

The win/loss totals include several vacated wins which pushes Alabama's total even closer to Texas

My point is simply they have similar potential. Not that UT is better than UA. Somehow the argument became that.

Thanks for the info tiguar. These gumps don't understand your complex numbers but their delusion is strong

Except that his numbers aren't up to date. He even left off 4 conference titles for Alabama while including every one that Texas ever won. Alabama won 4 Southern conference titles in addition to their 23 SEC titles for 27 total. He also failed to update the totals to include the 26 Texas wins from 2011-2013 and the 37 Alabama wins over that same time frame.

Absolutely. There's no doubt that Saban would kill it at Texas and that Texas is one of THE truly elite coaching jobs in America. No argument whatsoever there.

He might not ever lose a Big 12 game. But you can't help your players from playing down to the competition so he might start losing in the playoffs.

I am telling you it is in the works- Sabin wants another crack at the pros- he failed at Miami - just as petey failed in New England - look how well pistol Pete is doing at Seattle - Reports are Sabin believes he can do the same with Dallas- it is all about putting " the process" to use!

Hot off the press- sabins agent is talking with jerry jones about possibly taking the coaching position there at year end-

Saban could easily have the same success at Texas as Mack Brown.

As soon as I saw all those downvotes, I downvoted as a reflex. I knew OP said something stupid, and he didn't disappoint.

So is the OP admitting that bama gets special advantages with the conference headquartered in the state? Hmmm.

If they are going to count Bama's Southern Conference years, they need to include the championships.

23 SEC championship, plus...
4 Southern championships, equal....
27 total conference championships.

Meh. It could certainly happen and I wouldn't be that upset. The Dallas Cowboys job is one of the most prestigious sports jobs in the world so it's hard to a fault a coach for leaving. It's obvious that Saban thinks he has the greatest college football job there is so if it takes arguably the greatest job in sports to lure him away and placate the crushed physche of LSU fans then so be it. We'll transition to Kirby Smart and give it a go and he doesn't work out will throw big money at the next big thing.

Love it when someone attempts to make a general consensus on another fanbase and fails in the process

So at least some Tide fans get it. Some of the other posts here are downright funny.

What I particularly love is the argument that since the SEC is the better conference, Texas would be at a disadvantage. Nothing could be further from the truth- Bama, this season, has one of the best teams in their school history. Same situation in 2011. Forgetting bowl matchups (since they are not relevant to the issue), Bama has 0 conference titles in those 2 yrs, because they lost to teams as strong as they were. 2 less conference titles. Interestingly, they didn't even win their divisions those years. Before you blurt out "21-0" or something else beside the point, consider- your overall resume has been decreased. Texas, in a similar situation, would have 2 more conference titles.
Conference prestige might help "good" teams get better athletes, but "elite" teams will get them regardless. In a weaker conference, the elites will just not face as much competition; sometimes that competition makes you tougher, but sometimes it beats you down.

Saban would hands down win it all at Texas, just like @ Bama, as I told my brother the day he took the job, he'll win 3-4 in less 10 yrs.

The system works!

We have a similar system but find ourselves in unfortunate situations b/c of game plan (not enough Hill) and play calling (better this year). Bama doesn't get in those situations to make the mistakes, when they do, they make them too....
