Confidence in Miles on a new DC hire...

If Chavis bolts, which is looking more and more like an inevitablilty, my take is other than the Co-DC debacle, Miles has recently made some decent coaching replacement hires. With all the $$$ LSU has in the coffer, I have confidence a highly qualified DC will be hired by Miles. With the talent level we have, I would think this would be a very attractive opportunity for a new DC to have a legit shot at being a part of a NC in a few years.

yea but as Bilj pointed out the other day our guys will have to learn a new system for the 3rd year in a row.

Bill Clay, Bradley Dale Peveto, Doug Mallory and Gary Crowton agree

The problem is finding one who doesn't already have another job.

They are running pretty much the same passive system that Pelini and Malveto had set up. The only difference is that they had PP locking down a side.

The DC Miles was bringing with him until he was told "No, you're not."

Precisely. And the rumors have gained more steame due to his blatant evasiveness today.

His presser...He did not deny or state unequivocally that he would be the DC at LSU next year. He refused to answer any questions regarding it. His wife still lives in Knoxville (closer to GA). I understand he has not bought a home in B.R. Don't know what this all means but, seems to me, 80-20 he leaves?

I'm not saying Chavis is definitely leaving, but if he was definitely staying, he would have said so today during the press conference, where he was presented with multiple opportunities to say that he's staying.
Although, for some reason, he couldn't tell the media what he told Sheppard a day or so ago (that he will be here next year...).
So, it's evident that Chavis is definitely thinking about it. And when you throw in the fact that the DC job at UGA would allow him to drive home a few evenings during the week to see his family, it suddenly becomes a very lucrative position for him.

For 500k per year LSU can't fly him to and from knoxville? is he and his wife driving to and from knoxville to baton rouge?
