that offense looked different than any under the miles tenure. play calling was totally different, no way les was calling those plays

I read something about how when a position like Michigan opens up lots of coaches throw their hat in the ring. Agents call people they know etc.. trying to get their guy mentioned or in the loop so they can get a raise out of it even if they arent really interested. That is probably what is happening it might be Stoops or Richt trying to get a raise.

No he didnt. he had 4 NFL starters, 1 of which is current rookie of the month.

since he coordinated the offense from February all the way through January, called the plays and was responsible for the gameplans then he played a significant part in the offensive success last year. He is not the only reason but he is a pretty big factor

I have to laugh at your "mett regressed last year" comment. Was that regression before or after he was injured?

So the plays, and not the athletes executing them were the reason for the success?

Well then, why is this year so abysmal?

Oh wait, when it's good, it's the coach, when it's bad, it's the players....right?

What game did the offense lose? Besides Mett going crazy bad against Ole Miss?

And you think Mett was better in 2012 than in 2013? Interesting.

Cam clearly had a huge hand in the offensive success last year, but people are acting like he took 2010 JJ and turned him into what Mett was last year, and that's not true.

1) Mett had already started progressing in the second half of 2012.

2) Hill became our feature back in the second half of 2012.

Both those things plus Landry and ODB learning to actually catch a ball changed the offense around.

The playcalling was better, but realistically the talent maturing was the bigger factor as well as maybe the worst collection of SEC defenses in 2 decades. Think about the injuries Ole Miss had on their defense and yet our offense was horribly inconsistent in the game.

The fact is that this season is more a reflection of what happens to Cameron with young QBs. Much like his predecessors at LSU, he's not strong at it and hasn't proven to be a great young QB developer at the college level. At Indiana he had one QB develop.

In San Diego, Brees sucked for 3 years under Cam to the point that Doug Floutie bested him. It took Cam 3 years to get a college superstar QB to develop, think about that.

He gets way too much credit, and while I think he'll eventually develop a QB, it isn't happening quickly, which is a major problem in college football.

That is why you see the type of offense this year with the QB play.
