Coaches that run the spread

This is where football is heading people. Who are some coaches that are up to date on the new spread offense?

The problem with spread teams is that they often struggle to run the ball when they are ahead and need to put the game away.

I dont know why everyone is in love with this guy Rich. He has 2-3 good players and everyone else is average. It is like he only recruits 2 players.

It's not because he can't coach or can't recruit, it;s because is is in butt-fudge West Virginia. Have you ever been to WV. It has the poorest population in the nation. He would be able to recruit at LSU.

In about 5-10 years the spread option will become as obsolete as the old veer options and triple options. They'll still be around at a few schools, but it won't be prevalent. A defense will figure it out. Every offense that is gimmicky gets figured out after a while.
My question is, after every team is running a spread option in college, what the hell is going to happen to the NFL when they try and find a QB? There will be no such thing as a Tom Brady anymore b/c he will be told "you're too slow, sorry."

nothing will happen.
NFL defenders are too smart and fast from sideline to sideline for any of the spread options to work.
nfl people will continue to draft the type of quarterbacks they have been drafting

Yup, but nobody would be starting that's an NFL prototype. For instance, do you think Peyton Manning would've ever made it in a spread offense in college? I guess the NFL will be drafting guys from Div. I-AA and from backups.

there are some teams who will always run traditional offenses. teams will adapt, like OSU did today
however what it WILL do for QBs is make guys like tom brady develop his feet. a lot of these QBs were athletic in high school and just lost it. hell carson palmer left USC as a 4.6 guy

the point is that the pro's will still just pick pro style quarterbacks. not every team is going to the spread option.

Well the best guys, the Rodriguezs and the Meyers of the world, understand how to adjust their schemes to fit a more drop back style passer as well.
Its just a phase, but pro sets and things of that nature which have been around for ages will always be a part of the game.

By gimmicky, I meant not "pro-style." I guess bad word choice.
OSU kinda adapted, but not really. Troy smith ran more of what was a "Donovan McNabb" type offense and scrambled when he could. Imagine how good VT's offense would've been if they had run the spread option with Vick?

dude they were almost a pure spread option team last year and when smith played in 2005 they were also
last year he didn't run as much because pittman was so dominant and they didn't really have to have him keep it
he ran for 600 yards in 2005 and didn't play a full season
