That will kill LSU on recruiting.

way more important to get the right coach. Recruiting for this year may drop off, but we've got pretty good talent already, and this year's high school jr.'s in LA are supposed to be strong. He'd be way better than the Really Ole Ball Coach.

I'm on board. He can put a skeleton staff together to recruit and it won't be a big problem. Most of current commits will stay the course and he should have Florida ties that will help in the future to recruit Florida.

arthur brown would never consider LSU if he came here. Like a former NFL linebacker could teach him shite

No one knows how well he is going to be able to recruit. He is definately a great coach and I would like to see at LSU one day, but you can not know for sure he will be a good recruiter.

if Les can mumble about nothing and have a decent class, I am sure Del Rio could handle it

How will he not be a good recruiter?

He would be a former NFL head coach. He was DC for the 2000 Superbowl Champions, the Ravens, who's defense that year was one of the best ever. He played baseball with Randy Johnson and Mark McGuire at USC. He was an All-American at USC. He played 10 years in the NFL. He knows what it takes to get into the NFL and thats the biggest reason players will come here.

Okay, LB coach. Coached one of the best LB corps in the NFL.

I'd jump on if I wasn't already on the Spurrier bandwagon. Can I take a raincheck?

Not really. Going from Jacksonville to LSU is a much longer jump down than going from LSU to Michigan. It's not even close. I'd take him in a second, but nothing has convinced me at all that he wants to go from the majors to the minors when he doesn't have to. Actually, I'd have to question anybody who'd want to do that.

He came for an interview while his team was in the playoffs.

It's never really concerned me, but I wonder why he would do that.

+1

I can't seem to find anyone to share their almighty wisdom as to the following:

What about the LSU coaching position holds an attraction to Jack Del Rio that would be a compelling reason to leave where he is? It would be nice if your answers had sources to back them up.

He has never coached in college. He has 10 years total coaching experience. He has never spent 1 day recruiting, much less organzing a recruiting effort on the scale of LSUs. He has only coached people who know the game not raw H.S. kids. How is this guy a good fit for LSU?

I'm not entirely sure about him but if I had to choose between him, Spurrier, or Saban--consider me definitely ON the Del Rio bandwagon.

Spurrier and Saban are has-beens.
