He is what we need now. Don’t you think that our players have known that they have been outcoached week after week after week under less miles and Ed Orgeron. Those days are now over and this hire gives our team hope for the future. I wonder if Myles Brennen will reconsider his departure?

I think it’s a great hire and for a myriad of different reasons, but mostly stability and program building for the future. It’s instant name recognition that will help greatly in recruiting and national respect. I have a lot of confidence in Kelly representing LSU with class and I appreciate that.

Homerun except for his age. Would be better if he was at least under 50 instead of an old guy. But still a good hire under the circumstances.

I believed with all my heart that Nick Saban or Chris Petersen was going to be named. When you get beyond the emotions of not being the sexy hire, not going to follow football, it’s really a solid hire, in fact, a home run hire.
You must get beyond the lack of results in the playoffs. I had to look beyond the two losses to Alabama and the loss to Georgia. He’s going to bring in equal talent to Alabama and put LSU back on solid footing with Alabama.
When Brian was at Cincinnati, I recall many LSU fans including myself wanting Brian Kelly before he went to Notre Dame. I will remind you there was a game while at Cincinnati where he had a star quarterback injured brought in another quarterback injured brought in a third string quarterback and won the game. All three QBs were very good and little to know drop off.

He will have never had the athlete’s anywhere he’s ever coached, as what he will be coaching at LSU. He’s got to be licking his chops over coaching blue chippers 2-3 deep at every position.

Kelly = ND OL transfers and OL recruits from up yonder. (Indiana, Illinois, (Pocic) Ohio, Pennsylvania, (Hubicz) Michigan, (Dellinger) and maybe even WISCONSIN if the OL gods show us mercy and grant us a few.
This has me hyped and I don't get hyped much about LSU football. (Been There....Done That)

Great hire! Woody wanted a top level coach from a major program that will always be knocking on the playoffs door. Kelly knows his best chance to get a championship is at LSU. Still going to be tough in the SEC West, but with the available talent in La., much better chance than at Norte Damned!
