Looks like Odom is heading to Texas. Would this staff work?

Freeman DC/LB
Bo Davis DL
Corey Raymond CB/Recruiting Coord
Chris Ash Safeties/PGC

Terry Joesph is also a name being floated around.

He’ll probably land at DC somewhere but it’d be cool if he came here and was DC when Freeman left (assuming we hire Freeman).

Was thinking the same thing.. but being a DC at a mid level school isn’t as attractive as being the safeties coach at LSU.

If we do land Freeman and he has success.. you could make a case that Ash would be a great internal candidate.

I don't want Chris Ash personally just from a recruiting and development side

That’s a pretty good haul.. he was in place for 1 year on a downward trending team.

He was the head coach at Rutgers, so that time period would be a recruiting black hole.

Maybe... maybe not. That’s coach O’s call.

I’m just on discussion board discussing a possible candidate. What are you doing today?

Bo is not coming to LSU. I don't think he's cleared to coach in SEC.

That’s interesting.

Have there been any other names floated around?

The rantards have already promoted Russ Callaway so we don't lose him to the Patriots and declared that Corey Raymond doesn't need a safeties coach to split up the Dbs cause Ryan Clark told them so. 6 offensive coaches, 3 on defense.

Describe your definition of mid level school. Not many guys going to turn down a DC job to be a safeties coach

He may not have an opportunity as a DC right now but cmon man

If Freeman accepts LSU's offer, because let's be real we are pursuing him way more than he is pursuing us, he will get heavy input on the staff. I don't see Freeman just agreeing to be DC (his big shot to climb up the coaching ranks) without control over who is there with him. Raymond will be safe regardless but I would expect him to have a large say on the rest.

I would just rather move Raymond back to coaching the entire defensive backfield. Safety coach worked under Aranda when we ran a lot more zone, in man coverage your corners and safeties HAVE to be on the same page
