On Wednesday, however, Chow's agent, Don Yee, steadfastly denied that USC has been in talks with Chow.

I cant imagine Chow is a big fan of Kiffin, but money talks. He also has 0 chance of winning anything at UCLA

have to repost this bc it's too funny
quote:
Norm Chow turns down USC offer after Kiffin claims it was he who was calling the plays during USC's heyday and not Chow.....
"During Kiffin’s introductory press conference at USC yesterday, Kiffin was asked if he would run the USC offense: “That would be my guess because that’s what I’ve always done.“
That sentiment, which shocked many with the knowledge that USC was in desperate pursuit of Chow, was also noted by Scott Wolf of the L.A. DAILY NEWS.
In a stunning coincidence, that comment by Kiffin was later deleted from the press conference transcript on the official USC website.
Kiffin’s comment was broadcast live on the KLAC-AM in Los Angeles, the flagship radio home of UCLA football - Chow’s employer.
12 hours later Chow turned a multi-million dollar offer to join the USC coaching staff.

It's entirely possible that Kiffin was referring to his practice as a head coach, not when he was an assistant at SC. That said, it's still terminally stupid, since he should know that Chow wouldn't want to play second fiddle to a head coach in the play-calling department. Another example of Kiffin engaging his mouth before his brain is in gear.

I vote for the "engaging his mouth before his brain is in gear" part.
The clusterfrick is just beginning at USC. The ending is already known, it's what comes in between now and then that will keep us all tuned in and on the edge of our seats.
It will be the longest 'train wreck in slow motion' in sports history.

LOS ANGELES - It has been quite a week for the University of Southern California football program's recruiting violation program. After coach Pete Carroll left for the Seattle Seahawks, many wondered if the football program's recruiting violation program would be shut down. But then the football program's recruiting violation program found the University of Tennessee football program's recruiting violation program's president, Lane Kiffin. "I would be proud to carry on this program's fine traditions," said coach Kiffin in a statement. "I will also bring some of my own traditions. The University of Tennessee football program's recruiting violation program used very hot chicks to get some high schoolers to apply to Tennessee. It was extremely effective. The girls here at the University of Southern California are much hotter and I'm willing to bet, sluttier. I guarantee I will make the University of Southern California football program's recruiting violation program number one in the country."

The balls on this guy are just amazing. He expects people to believe that he, as the new junior coach on the staff, was calling plays over the guy widely considered to be the best Offensive Coordinator in college football?
Holy smokes Boy Blunder
