Chill out guys about the Football Scoop Article.

The whole OMG Woody is just now offering!!!! We don't have him.
This means it's a done deal. A guy like Woody isn't going to offer someone he doesn't think is going to take the job.
It's the reason Jimbo won't receive a formal offer. It never made it out of the back channel/agent process.
They Vet all this crap ahead of time. Agents communicate numbers. Agreement is made.
Then when the time comes a formal offer is made with the expectation that it will be accepted.
Sure Riley could just nuke the whole thing and decline the offer. But this isn't Joe Alleva here.
Woody is offering, formally because he knows he has him.

To make an offer Woody would have to go to the BOS. Tell them who, how much, etc. Woody isn't wasting time. He's not some amateur. He went to them because it's done

Not at all. It’s not 100% confirmation, but it’s correct that the formal offer comes after all of the discussions have taken place and details discussed. That’s the exact same way I handle interviews and hires. The formal offer is given last and with the expectation that the applicant will accept.

Anyway, back to the issue at hand- Riley strikes me as someone that has carefully sat down with his wife and discussed the pros and cons for weeks and they have made their decision. I hope we all get an early Christmas present sometime tomorrow...

It also relates to Riley’s contract with OU. He would be in breach if he talked to another school before the regular season ended.
