Oh the "historically top tier program" and the easy route to the bcs They may have had a good run in for about a 15 year period, but fell off the face of the earth after old man weinke left. Their easy path to the bcs, again when was the last time that conference played compared to the sec. Auburn is no where near a step down from fsu, it's a lateral move. He has ties to auburn, loves auburn, has interviewed with auburn in the past, and will listen to what auburn has to offer. Does that mean, he will come? No. Do I think he will come? I'd say 25% chance. I do think he will listen, but more than likely use it to gauge his worth to the fsu program.

FSU is the better job as long as FSU is committed to Jimbo.

I will bet money that Jimbo is staying at Florida State.

Who were those great coaches that wanted to coach at Auburn after Tuberville left?

I won't be shocked, but I would be mildly surprised if Jimbo isn't either A: the coach at Auburn next season, or B: the coach who you hear the most about in regards to the Auburn job.

I don't see it happening. His son has fanconi anemia, and if I recall correctly there are specialists and a treatment center in Tallahassee. He wouldn't jeopardize his son's health for any amount of money

You're retarded. It would be an atrocious move for Jimbo. And honestly, I think Auburn could do better.

Actually, it got diagnosed in Birmingham, and they've had to go to Minnesota for treatment. I understand his son's health issues being an issue with him taking the job, but at the same time he's making roughly 2.2 mil at FSU.

Auburn will probably offer 3.5-4 mil to him, even with Chizik's buyout.

Call me whatever you feel like, but I guarantee you Auburn will pursue Jimbo until he says no.

Yeah, I remember that part, but I thought that ESPN said (they did a special on all this not too long ago) a treatment center had been set up locally. Maybe I misunderstood, or it was shotty reporting by ESPN.

That said, I would be happy with a Jimbo hire as long as he brought Craig with him. I hate that negative recruiting a-hole

LMAO Auburn is a step down from FSU, unless you mean FSU fires Fisher and Auburn hires him

If I'm Jimbo, I stay at FSU because it is easier to get top recruits in FL with only UF as the only other respectable program. Miami is horrible and FL produces many more top recruits than the state of AL.

Stupid move despite his ties there.

He's in a softer conference, can recruit almost as well as any SEC School, and can be within striking distance of an NC game much easier at FSU.

the last 12 years don't agree with that... but whatever... he can win at either school... not sure why he'd leave a more stable situation.

You also don't know what you're talking about. Auburn has better resources, facilities, and more money. Jimbo has ties to Auburn and the SEC and he is not in welcoming company at FSU and hasn't been since Bobby stepped down.

FWIW, I just looked over this thread again and it seems like the only people who think Auburn is a better job than FSU are Auburn fans.

It's a lateral move. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well, considering most fans on this site hate Auburn, you really think that's a shocker?

Agreed. Trust me, though, Jimbo isn't nearly as happy at FSU as some would think.
