Instead of going to a school that is already established. Imagine if either of these two guys ends of in Maryland. He can become a legend in Maryland. Along with the large commitment by the Underarmor CEO and the recruiting grounds of DC, Maryland, and VA, he will be very successful. It is clear that Maryland wants to be Oregon of the east and is willing to spent. It is only time before our Saban or Meyer arrives.

247 is reporting that we're going after Herman as a lead candidate. That could all be misinformation.

I don't think Herman or Fuente end up in Maryland. Are y'all looking at Ruhle as a possibility?

Zero chance. Both are Texas guys.

Rhule is a more likely fit

Fuente can become a legend at Memphis. Why not just stay there if that's what he wants

He seems more like a fit for VT to me.

Yep Matt is also on our Radar:

I would take Herman, Fuente, or Rhule but I give Herman an edge because he worked with Meyers and has the killer offence.

You just ended a sentence with a preposition. Definitely not a good sign. Have fun with Charlie Weiss or Mangino.

Virginia Tech is also a better job.

Maybe UCF too. Your division situation sucks.

Mangino.

Mangino was the best thing to happen to KU football ever, they were fools to get rid of him for talking tough to some players. If he was a little younger and 200 lbs lighter, he would be a good HC candidate at several schools.

Anything is possible if Maryland is willing to get in a bidding war.

Kind of like Pellini, but not nearly as charming.

There are four coaches in that division who are top 20 coaches who constantly steal talent from that area

Fuente is going to be very hard to pry away from Memphis.

Herman will leave Houston either this year or next year.

Fuente may hold out for the right job or just work to build a monster at Memphis if they go to the Big 12.

No doubt Fuente is on my short list if I were an AD.

Fuente makes $1.4M at Memphis, with a $500K buyout.... There are 4-5 programs right now that are going to go over $3M for their next HC...what you said isn't true at all.

How is Fuente a "Texas guy" other than his 5 years as an assistant at TCU

Zero
Memphis and Houston are better spots than Maryland that has no chance in its division and which will ensure the coach never gets a top job. An older coach who is unlikely to get a top job and who makes a MAC salary currently might cash in and pick Maryland for the money. Someone like Babers could do it.
