wise move. sticking with reggie ball led to his downfall. An ACC championship last year could have bought him a few extra years.

The good news? Tenuta is a FA. :nana: :nana:

Sources: Georgia Tech fires coach Chan Gailey

11/26/2007 8:12 AM - Georgia Tech fired football coach Chan Gailey after six seasons, two days after the Yellow Jackets lost to rival Georgia for the sixth season in a row, sources close to the situation said Monday.

ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech fired football coach Chan Gailey after six seasons, two days after the Yellow Jackets lost to rival Georgia for the sixth season in a row, sources close to the situation said Monday.

Gailey, 55, was informed of the decision by Georgia Tech athletics director Dan Radakovich in a meeting on Monday morning, the sources said. It wasn't immediately known whether Gailey would coach the Yellow Jackets in a bowl game.

The school has scheduled a 2 p.m news conference to announce the firing.

Gailey, a former Dallas Cowboys head coach, had a 44-32 record at Georgia Tech, leading the Yellow Jackets to a bowl game in each of his first five seasons. The Yellow Jackets are 7-5 this season and are eligible to play in a bowl game for the 11th straight season.

Gailey led Georgia Tech to a 9-5 record in 2006, a season in which the Yellow Jackets won the Coastal Division and lost to Wake Forest in the ACC Championship Game.

Well there's been talk about Tenuta getting a HC job somewhere else. Apparently he doesn't want to be a HC, he just likes being DC. I think he doesn't want to deal with that bullshite. And he recruits pretty well. He's gotten some 4 and 5 star D prospects, that GT had no business of getting.

He has a great blitz package and uses it often (at one point in the season he was blitzing about 70% of 1-3rd down plays) and he does it from everywhere.

It's the only shining aspect of it. That being said GT's secondary blows, but i think that's more of a lack of talent, than bad coaching, but I'm not sure

But still, I hope LSU goes after him.
